ศรีธนญชัย (2524) : เรื่องราวของศรีธนญชัย ยอดตลกหลวง ผู้มีสติปัญญาเฉลียวฉลาดปราดเปรื่อง โดยมีบทเริ่มต้นดังนี้ กาลครั้งหนึ่งยังมีสองสามีภรรยาอยู่กินด้วยกันมาอย่างมีความสุขเป็นเวลา หลายปี แต่กลับยังไม่มีบุตร “นายชัย” ผู้เป็นสามีจึงปรึกษากับ “นางศรี” ภรรยาของตนว่าควรปลูกศาลเพียงตาทำพิธีบวงสรวงเทพยดา เพื่อขอทายาทไว้สืบสกุล ร้อนถึง พระอินทร์ เมื่อรู้สึกว่าพระแท่นบัณฑุกัมพลศิลาอาสน์ เกิดแข็งกระด้างจึงเล็งทิพยเนตรลงมาตรวจดูความเป็นไปของชาวโลก ครั้นทราบความประสงค์ของสองสามีภรรยาก็มีจิตเมตตาคิดจะช่วย สงเคราะห์ให้สมความปรารถนา จึงมีบัญชาให้เทวบุตรองค์หนึ่งจุติลงมาในครรภ์ของนางศรี ในค่ำคืนนั้น นางศรีฝันว่าได้ไปเที่ยวเล่นและพบเขาพระสุเมรุขวางอยู่ จึงผลักเบี่ยงให้พ้นทาง ครั้นเห็นพระจันทร์ลอยเด่นอยู่ตรงหน้าได้คว้าเอามาถือไว้ พลันนางศรีก็ตกใจตื่นรีบปลุกสามีเล่าความฝันให้ฟัง รุ่งเช้านางได้ไปหาท่านสมภารที่วัดหมายให้ช่วยทำนายฝัน บังเอิญท่านสมภารออกไปฉันเพลนอกวัด สามเณรซึ่งเป็นผู้เฝ้ากุฏิจึงทำนายให้เองว่า นางจะให้กำเนิดบุตรชาย และเมื่อโตขึ้นเขาผู้นั้นจะได้เป็นยอดตลกหลวงผู้มีชื่อเสียง
